At HD Professional Nail Systems, transparency and trust sit at the heart of everything we do. As a brand created by global award winning nail artist Hazel Dixon, for nail professionals, we understand how important it is to feel completely confident in the products you use on your clients every day.
HD Professional Nail Systems was established in 2018 by Hazel Dixon after the successful launch of her custom brush range in 2014.
The brand has grown organically from Hazel’s work as an award-winning nail artist and educator. Rather than being created by a cosmetics company, it was built directly from salon experience and education, which is why the products, systems and training have always been designed around what nail technicians actually need behind the desk.
Our mission has always been clear: to deliver high-performance, trend-relevant products without ever compromising on safety, quality, or reliability in the salon environment.
We work alongside carefully selected, highly experienced manufacturing partners across the UK, Europe and internationally including East Asia. Each facility is an established specialist in cosmetic production, with extensive experience in professional nail systems and strict quality control processes. We collaborate closely with their Research & Development teams, ensuring every product is created with real salon use in mind.
Every formula is developed with input from Hazel, her educators and working nail technicians, allowing us to create systems that perform consistently, apply beautifully, and meet the expectations of modern professionals. All products are clearly labelled with the Country they are Made in along with Batch numbers for traceability.
Hazel’s previous role within Research & Development for the global nail brand NSI provided her with invaluable hands-on experience in product formulation and development. During this time, she gained a comprehensive understanding of the entire development process, from initial concept and raw ingredient selection through to testing, refinement and final production.
This experience sparked her passion for creating her own professional product line. To this day, Hazel continues to work closely with large-scale international manufacturers, rigorously testing formulas and providing detailed feedback across every aspect of product performance, usability and quality, ensuring that each product meets the exacting standards expected by professional nail technicians.

Our relationships with our manufacturing partners go far beyond a typical supplier arrangement. We maintain close communication throughout product development and production, reviewing formulations, performance testing and batch consistency to ensure our brand standards are met at every stage.
This hands-on involvement allows us to refine, test and improve formulas before they ever reach your salon. Only once a product meets our expectations for performance, durability and ease of use will it carry the HD Professional name.
INDEPENDENT TESTING & COMPLIANCE
All HD Professional Nail Systems products undergo thorough independent safety assessment in accordance with UK and EU cosmetic legislation in addition to manufacturers testing.
Our manufacturing partners operate under internationally recognised inspection and certification processes which include:
- Detailed Cosmetic Product Safety Reports (CPSRs)
- Full ingredient safety evaluation for professional use
- Manufacturing facility inspections in line with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) under ISO 22716 and ISO 9001:2015 standards
This ensures products are produced in controlled, hygienic environments that meet recognised global cosmetic manufacturing standards.
REGULATORY STANDARDS
HD Professional Nail Systems products comply with UK and EU Cosmetic Regulation 1223/2009 and are produced within ISO 22716 and/or ISO 9001:2015-certified facilities. This certification covers correct production, quality control, storage and transportation procedures, ensuring every bottle you receive meets strict safety and quality requirements.
Before reaching the professional market, products undergo an additional layer of independent review by a UK-based cosmetic safety assessor. This process includes:
- Independent safety assessments
- Registration on the UK Cosmetic Product Notification Portal (SCPN/CPNP)
- Compilation of Product Information Files (PIFs) including compliance documentation and manufacturing records
- Verification of non-animal testing compliance
OUR COMMITMENT TO PROFESSIONALS
HD Professional Nail Systems is a small family-run, educator-led brand built within the nail industry. Every product is designed to support nail technicians in their daily work, helping them create beautiful, safe and long-lasting results for their clients.
We are proud to have been the first UK brand to have our gels independently performance tested by the USA-based McConnell Labs, led by Jim McConnell of Light Elegance, during 2020–2021. Our HD gel systems successfully met the required testing standards, and we can confirm compatibility with the following curing units: Akzentz Hybrid Pro, Light Elegance Dot Lamp and Artistic Nail Design Lamp. As formulations continue to evolve in preparation for the forthcoming TPO photoinitiator restriction in cosmetic products, we are proactively undertaking additional compatibility and cure testing. This testing is being carried out by Marian Newman, following the testing methodology and specifications developed by Doug Schoon, ensuring our products remain compliant, safe and effective for professional use.
